National Campaign Coordinator, Young Christian Students

Sophie is 20 years old and grew up in Perth. She had been involved in the YCS movement putting faith into action since Year 8. Since then Sophie has been deeply involved in building up the Perth movement, including being a National Chairperson, International YCS representative to the World Council in India, and Perth Worker. She is now the National Campaign Coordinator, running the BreakFree Campaign. This campaign is focused on promoting the mental health of all young people, and ending the immigration detention of children. Sophie has a BA in Political Science and International Relations from UWA and plans to undertake postgraduate studies later this year. She sat on the UWA Student Guild, running the Social Justice Collaboration in 2014, and is one of the co-founders and leaders of Students for Refugees, a cross campus university organisation.
