Mr Mark Smith
Archdiocesan Youth Ministry Coordinator, Sydney Catholic Education Office

Mark is currently the Sydney Archdiocesan Youth Ministry Coordinator where he supports Youth Ministry Coordinators in each of the 38 Archdiocesan Catholic High Schools in their ministry with young people in schools encouraging them in their faith and in their a sense of mission and church.

Prior to that Mark has been a pioneer in developing new mission and ministry roles in Catholic Education within Sydney since 1998. This has included developing new roles as Youth Ministry Coordinator with the Broken Bay Catholic Schools Office, Ministry Coordinator and Chaplaincy Coordinator at Mount St Benedict College, Pennant Hills and Mission Coordinator for staff with the Australian network of Good Samaritan Schools.

During this time Mark has also developed a wide experience in coordinating immersion experiences for staff and students including time as Catholic Mission’s Immersion Coordinator.

Mark is passionate about seeking new ways to engage young people in schools to experience faith, justice and mission.
